Song with children's choir, similar to "Proper Education", circa 2007
A few years ago Eric Prydz released Proper Education, the song with the Pink Floyd sample. Some months later another DJ released a similar song, also consisting of samples from what I think is a school choir.
The tune I'm looking for did not sample Another brick in the wall, but a children's choir sounding much alike. I don't recall the lyrics but as far as I know a part of it goes like "because we are cool" (or blue, or some other word with an oooo-sound in it).
Does anyone know what song this was? Thanks!
Eric Prydz sampled the singing children of the Pink Floyd song. The other song sampled a similar sound of children singing, it was released a few weeks or months later but it didn't become that successful. The second song also was a bit more ease than the Prydz song
I doubt Eric Prydz's discography is so large that you can't go through it all yourself to find the song.
I found a website that lists artists that have used children's choirs as chorus and hooks. Not sure if what you are looking for is here, but it may be worth a listen/look: https://pigeonsandplanes.com/in-depth/2014/07/15-songs-with-kids-singing-the-chorus/r-kelly-i-wish
Original poster - did you ever figure it out? I think I have the same question. It sounds kind of glam and has the rhythm of Back in the New York Groove.
I suggest Justice's D.A.N.C.E..
- Sang by children voices.
- Released the same year as Proper Education (2007).
- Lyrics has a part "Do the dance, doooooo the dance".
I remember in 2008 Yelawolf released his version of Brick in the Wall. I cannot confirm it is the song you are looking for but here is a link.
